Every company wants to be something more tomorrow than it is today.
And that takes a plan.

Are you frustrated or disappointed your company is not achieving what you know it can?  Are you anxious about the future and where your company will be?  Strategic Planning is the process of creating a plan (a strategy) that moves the company or organization from where it is to where it wants to be.

The bigger your company, and the faster it’s growing, the harder it is to keep everyone on the same page.  The problem is that there isn’t a single page.  Instead there are likely dozens of actual and imaginary ones that claim to describe the company’s strategy.  Many of these messages are likely contradictory, vague, and unclear.  Our 1-Page Strategic Plan* is that single page to get everyone aligned around.

Break Through the Ceilings of Complexity
All companies bump up to ceilings of complexity. They generally correspond to revenue points of $1M, $10M, $20M, $50M, $100M, $250M and up.  What got you to $1 million won’t get you to the $10 million.  And it is almost always a talent game.  It doesn’t mean you need to let everyone go (although some may have to go), but it does mean you are going to need new talent in key positions to get you to the next level.

Start with the basics and manage growth as a process. Do not hold an event to solve issues that took years to evolve or identify.  Get very clear on what obstacles stand in your way – people, strategy, execution, or cash.  Establish clear priorities that you allow to simply define your path of progress every 90 days, always with an eye on your one-year and longer term goals.
